Title IX at TAPA
Title IX
is a federal civil rights law in the United States of America that was passed as part of the Education Amendments of 1972. Title IX prohibits sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, and gender identity) discrimination in any  school that receives funding from the federal government.
Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that has removed many barriers that once prevented people, on the basis of sex, from participating in educational opportunities and careers of their choice. It states that: No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation, in be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. As a public school and an anti-oppression creative community, TAPA takes our responsibilities under Title IX very seriously.

TAPA is an anti-oppression creative community that is enriched by the cultural, religious, racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity of our neurodiverse families, students, and employees. As such, we stand together in protest of the systematic violence and dehumanization of People of Color and the Black community.
