    ADVISORY CHANGE REQUEST FORM

The Academic Change Request Form is closed for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year.  Decisions regarding requests from the 1/3/23-1/13/23 Add/Drop window will be emailed to students by Friday, 1/20/23 to start the first day of Quarter 3 - 1/23/23.  The next Add/Drop window will be at the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.

Advisory ADD-DROP Windows for the 2022-2023 School Year:
    Spring 2023
Add-Drop Window (forms must be received during this time):  Tues. 1/3 - Fri. 1/13
Decisions will be emailed by:  Friday 1/20
Approved changes go into effect by:  Mon. 1/23

    Fall 2022
Add-Drop Window (forms must be received during this time): Mon. 8/22 - Fri. 9/9
Decisions will be emailed by: Fri. 9/9
Approved changes go into effect by: Mon. 9/16

    Advisory Change Request Procedure:
    1. Original advisory placements are made by the admin team based on a wide range of factors, and because it often takes some time for advisories to develop bonds, advisory changes aren't very common.
    2. Students must submit an advisory change request form during the Add/Drop window in order to be considered for the change in that semester.
    3. All timely requests will be considered by Admin + guidance.  They will receive an answer on the same date and go into effect on the same date.
    4. Applying for an advisory switch does not mean it is guaranteed, but a student may re-apply during the next Add-Drop period.
    5. Each advisory is capped at 15 students max; in grades with more advisories this number will be smaller.

Tips for a Successful Application (read carefully)
Read all instructions carefully  ~  Proofread your spelling, capitalization (no lowercase "i",) and use full sentences.  Have a trusted staff member look over your application before submitting.  ~ Following the regular rules of advisory (i.e., no wandering) and other school rules has a big impact on whether your request is approved.  ~ Switches based on advisor connection, rather than avoiding a peer conflict (which we want to help solve in other ways) will be prioritized.  ~ Switches based on room location will not be considered.  However, if you have a health or other impairment that makes your room's location difficult to access, please inform Mr. Sousa and Nurse Souad.
